Is it cruel to have a cat in a flat?

Cats make great apartment pets. They don't need to go outside and if you want your cat to have the longest, healthiest life possible, it should be an indoor pet. If you leave the balcony door open, shut the door to the bedroom so that the cat can't get in. My husband and I have two cats and they're allowed out onto the deck when we're able to go out with them. They love watching the birds and squirrels that visit and they have more than enough room to run around inside.
